The Mountain View Safari Lodge is a luxury self-catering accommodation that offers tented camps immersed in the Lowveld bush, providing guests with a sense of privacy and exclusivity while enjoying stunning mountain views. The Reserve is renowned for its many secondary roads, which are excellent for outdoor activities such as mountain biking, jogging, and walking, allowing visitors to experience the game in an unspoiled environment.

The Reserve is home to various game species, excluding the Big Five, including healthy populations of Waterbuck, Kudu, Nyala, Impala, Zebra, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Bushbuck, Duiker, and other small antelope species. Numerous bird species also thrive in the area, making it an ideal destination for avid birders and ornithologists. Nocturnal species found on the Reserve include Civet Cat, Genet, Porcupine, Aardvark, and the elusive Caracal, among others. While the Big Five are not present on the Reserve, the lodge is conveniently located near the Kruger National Park, allowing for day trips to observe these iconic animals.

The Leadwood tented camp at the Mountain View Safari Lodge features two double bedrooms, accommodating families or two couples comfortably. The tent is equipped with fully functional kitchen facilities, including a fridge and cooking hob, a luxury bathroom with an outdoor shower, and indoor sitting areas. Outdoor amenities include undercover parking, a private plunge pool, sun decks/lounge areas, and fire pit areas for traditional braai cooking while enjoying the African sunset over the breathtaking Drakensberg Mountains.

The camp is fully solar-powered, allowing guests to experience African tented luxury while minimizing the impact on the environment and surroundings. Nearby activities and attractions include self-drive or guided vehicle and walking safaris within the Kruger National Park, walking with cheetahs at the nearby Tshukudu Game Lodge, walking with elephants at Jabulani, boat cruises on Swadini dam, the Graskop Gorge Lift, visiting Jessica the Hippo, white water rafting down the Blyde River Canyon, scenic helicopter flights over the Olifants Gorge, hot air balloon trips over the Lowveld, the Kinyonga Reptile Park, Moholoholo Wildlife Rehab Centre, Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, Nyani Culture Village, Bourkes Luck Potholes, safari wine tasting, and exploring the Panoramic Route with its three Rondavels/God Window viewpoints.

Guests are greeted upon arrival, and staff is available in case of emergencies. The nearest town, Hoedspruit, is located 30 kilometers away and offers supermarkets and a range of restaurants. The tents are equipped with extras such as bed linen, towels, dishcloths, fleece blankets, coffee/tea facilities, sugar, powdered milk, dish wash liquid, hand soap, and a cleaning service every fourth day (including fresh towels and bed linen). A daily cleaning service can be arranged upon request at an additional cost.
