The Namaqua National Park, situated in the Northern Cape Province near the town of Kamieskroon, is a captivating land of contrasts where diverse life forms have adapted ingeniously to the extreme climate. The park offers a range of accommodation options, including the renowned Skilpad Rest Camp for self-catering experiences and various camping opportunities along the coast.

At the main entrance, visitors will find the reception, administrative offices, and the finest accommodations exclusively at Skipad. During the enchanting flower season in spring, a temporary luxury camp is unveiled at the coastline, operated by a private company, providing an unparalleled experience.

The Skilpad Rest Camp features eight majestic camps, each with one to six stands. While electricity and ablution facilities are not standard, selected camps like Bamboeskamp, Bouldersbaai, Koringkorrelbaai, Kwass se baai, and Varswater offer eco-friendly toilets for added comfort.

As a member of SANParks' loyalty program, Wild, conservation fees are waived upon presenting proof of identity and a valid Wild card. The rates are determined by the number of adults and children, and quotes include a 1% Community Levy. However, daily conservation fees must be paid directly at the camp upon arrival.

Visitors are required to supply their own camping equipment and tents, as no power or water sources are available. Two vehicles are allowed per site without charge, while additional vehicles will incur a fee per night. Guests must check in at Groenrivier before proceeding directly to the campsites, which are equipped with environmentally friendly toilets. Visitors must be totally self-sufficient, as there are no ablution blocks or water and electricity facilities.
