Nhonguane Lodge

Nhonguane Lodge is a tranquil retreat situated on the Santa Maria peninsula in Mozambique's Maputo Province. The property offers a mix of comfortable self-catering accommodation options, including beachfront houses and luxury safari tents, positioned approximately 1 kilometer from the channel separating the peninsula from Inhaca Island.

The accommodation consists of six houses and a Safari Tented Camp. The houses feature full amenities including air conditioning, mosquito nets, and fully equipped kitchens with daily servicing. Some properties boast private pools and jacuzzis, while others have access to communal facilities and a beach bar. The Safari Tented Camp comprises three luxury tents, each accommodating four guests, with en-suite bathrooms, fans, and a communal thatched entertainment area.

The lodge's location offers guests access to numerous activities including exploring unspoiled beaches, visiting the Maputo Elephant Reserve, deep-sea fishing, traditional dhow sailing, snorkeling, dune boarding, and various water sports. The reef, located just 5km from the channel mouth, provides excellent fishing opportunities.

The property is accessible either by 4x4 vehicle through the Maputo Elephant Reserve or by boat via Maputo. The location sits 38 kilometers across the Bay of Maputo, which stretches 40 kilometers from Maputo to the peninsula. The area represents an unspoiled portion of Mozambican coastline, ideal for families, couples, or individuals seeking a picturesque getaway.
