Nkonka Safari Lodge is a unique self-catering destination situated overlooking the Umkomaas River in Kwa Zulu Natal, positioned just 45 minutes from Pietermaritzburg and slightly over an hour from Durban. The property offers guests an authentic African bush experience while maintaining comfortable accommodations, with regular sightings of wildlife including Giraffe, Kudu, Nyala, Warthog, Zebra, and Impala around the lodge grounds.

The property consists of several accommodation options. The main Nkonka Lodge features 11 en-suite rooms with varying configurations, accommodating up to 30 guests, and includes a fully equipped kitchen, kids' lounge, and bathroom facilities. Nyala Pans holiday home offers 4 rooms and 2 bathrooms, accommodating 16 guests, complete with full kitchen, lounge, dining area, and TV with DStv. The Nkwazi camp comprises 4 tented rooms with en-suite brick bathrooms and a cottage with 2 en-suite rooms, housing up to 18 guests, and includes kitchen, lounge, and entertainment facilities.

Additional accommodation options include Lafafa Camp, which features 5 rooms and 2 bathrooms, accommodating 10 guests, with full kitchen and entertainment amenities. The Mkhobeni colonial farmhouse rounds out the offerings with large bedrooms and a characteristic wrap-around verandah, suitable for up to 10 guests.
