Normarie's Guesthouse is a charming thatch roof villa located in Wilderness, Western Cape, South Africa, nestled between the Indian Ocean and the pristine lakes and rivers of the Wilderness National Park. The property is owned and operated by German couple Norbert and Annemarie, who offer guests their exceptional hospitality in a warm, friendly, and relaxed environment.
The guesthouse features two accommodation options: a one-bedroom apartment in the main building with an en-suite shower and living room, and a spacious garden cottage with en-suite shower facilities. Both units offer private entrances and individual patios. In late 2019, the property was enhanced with the addition of a swimming pool, sundeck, and adjacent waterfall, providing guests with stunning views of the Serpentine River, Island Lake, and the Hoekwil Hills. The pool area is subtly lit for evening swimming under the Southern Hemisphere's starry sky.
Located just 30 minutes from George Airport, the guesthouse provides easy access to beaches, National Parks, and the vibrant Wilderness village (2-7km). The surrounding Garden Route region offers numerous attractions, including world-class golf courses designed by renowned players such as Ernie Els, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player. Nature enthusiasts can explore ten nature reserves, seventeen pristine estuaries, indigenous forests, and observe over 300 bird species. The area is ideal for outdoor activities, including walking, biking, and water sports.
Breakfast is served on a private terrace overlooking Island Lake, where guests may spot Knysna Loeries in flight. The property combines the convenience of independent living with professional, personalized service from the hosts, who understand the perfect balance of attention required by international travelers.
