Old Oak Manor is a splendid guesthouse situated in Riebeek Kasteel, in the heart of some of the most beautiful scenery in South Africa. The building itself is one of the oldest houses in the area, built around 1860. The guesthouse was named after the oldest oak tree on the property, estimated to be 180 years old. Another old oak on the property, estimated at about 150 years, provides shade to the restaurant's outdoor area.
Old Oak Guest House has four en-suite bedrooms named Tara, Julius, Misty, and Felix, after the owners' cats. The two larger rooms, Tara and Julius, are located at the back of the house and open onto a patio leading to the swimming pool. These rooms have a double bed and a spacious bathroom with a freestanding Victorian bath and shower. The other two rooms, Felix and Misty, are located on the side and front of the house, respectively. They also have double beds with an en-suite bathroom containing a shower. All rooms have wall heaters for cold winter nights.
The Wedding suite is located above the restaurant. This spacious living area consists of a lounge, bedroom, and en-suite bathroom, containing a double bed and two daybeds. It offers DSTV, tea/coffee facilities, and an honesty bar. Room service can be ordered from the restaurant during normal open hours. With its unique interior, this space is popular as a honeymoon suite and has been the focal point of many interior shoots for local and international magazines. The courtyard can accommodate up to 120 guests for a beautiful wedding setting.
The restaurant offers a candle-lit romantic dinner in the beautiful courtyard shaded by giant oak trees. It serves pizzas, burgers, and children's meals in the lovely outdoor courtyard.
