Oleander Guest House

The Oleander Guest House is a glorious 100-year-old Edwardian house located in the historic suburb of Belgravia in Kimberley. The house features a beautiful garden with a trademark oleander tree, speculated to be the largest in South Africa, positioned gracefully in the front garden. The old house possesses a specific warmth and charm and has been declared a national heritage building to preserve the beautiful historic character of Kimberley.

The house has undergone careful renovations over many years to ensure that the true quality of this gracious house contributes to an unforgettable experience for visiting guests. The Oleander Guest House offers a friendly, peaceful, and relaxed atmosphere, and was awarded the prestigious Lilizella national winner in the five-star guest house category in 2015 and 2017.

The guest house offers ten luxurious en-suite bedrooms graciously decorated with French-colonial flair. All rooms are stylishly equipped with a flat-screen TV with DSTV channels, a comfortable working desk, deluxe linen, a variety of teas and coffee, as well as added comfort of bathrobes and a well-stocked honesty bar. Some executive rooms feature a private seating area for relaxation. The establishment provides free Wi-Fi, safe parking, and a night watchman for added security.

The Oleander Guest House features a brand-new cozy restaurant on the premises, Laurier Blanc (French for White Oleander), which opened its doors in June 2017. The restaurant is stylishly decorated with a touch of French flair and elegance, featuring a wine collection passageway leading to the quaint interior, beautifully decorated with chandeliers, long draping curtains, and neatly prepared dining tables. A typical French veranda opens from the restaurant with a vineyard pergola and two traditional water features, adding to the overall ambiance while enjoying exceptional food and quality wine. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner cuisine to guests, with a cool and relaxed atmosphere in summer and a warm ambiance in winter with a wood-burning stove.

The wedding venue caters for up to 30 people, and each wedding is uniquely customized to suit the needs and ideas of the couple. Five of the rooms can be used as honeymoon suites, with Room 2 serving as a perfect match for the bride to get dressed, as it features many mirrors. All rooms are equipped with modern conveniences, including free internet wireless connectivity, electronic safes, 16-channel DStv, honesty bar fridges, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Access to the premises is well controlled.
