Onderhoek is a working wine farm located approximately three kilometers from Vredendal on the R363 road. Vredendal, situated in the picturesque Olifants River valley, is renowned for its acclaimed wines. The farm offers one self-catering unit that accommodates two guests, as well as a campsite with a capacity for 20 people.

The Olifants River is known for its intricate irrigation system, which allows for extensive agriculture and viticulture in the region. The valley is verdant and fertile, surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Gifberg, Maskam, and Koebee mountains, creating a peaceful haven with a captivating setting for a tranquil getaway.

Vredendal serves as a central location, making it an ideal base for exploring the region's wildflowers during the spring season, Namaqualand, the rugged Cape West Coast, and the sandstone Matzikama Mountains.
