Otters Den Self-Catering Cottages are a collection of secluded cottages situated in 18 acres of unspoiled countryside in the heart of the arts and crafts route of the Midlands Meander, near Nottingham Road in KwaZulu Natal. The establishment consists of four freestanding thatched cottages, namely Chelsea, The Great Western, Ikwela, and Copper. Each cottage accommodates two people and features a private balcony overlooking the Lions River, an en-suite bathroom with a jacuzzi spa bath, a fully equipped kitchen with amenities such as a microwave, two-plate stove, fridge/freezer, toaster, and Weber braai, as well as a dining and lounge area with Mega Master Fireplaces, a Flat Screen HD TV with DSTV, a table and chairs on the balcony, a queen-sized double bed, and a private carport.

For added comfort during cold nights, all cottages are equipped with electric blankets, goose down duvets, and heated towel racks to complement the fireplace. Additionally, each cottage is provided with utensils, crockery, glasses, linen, and towels, as well as a welcome pack containing tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and biscuits. The establishment also offers Copper Cottage, a romantic open-plan honeymoon suite with its own private river view jacuzzi spa bath situated at the foot of a queen-sized double bed. Guests can indulge in massages, facials, scrubs, and various other beauty treatments provided by an in-house beautician in the comfort and privacy of their cottage.

The Chelsea cottage specifically features a private balcony overlooking the Lions River, an en-suite bathroom with its own jacuzzi bath, a fully equipped kitchen including a microwave, stove, fridge, toaster, and braai, a dining and lounge area, and a private carport with a fireplace included.
