Oyster Cottages

Oyster Cottages is comprised of two independent self-catering cottages, sharing a single corner property, situated in one of the oldest suburbs of Umhlanga. The self-catering units are located a mere five-minute drive away from beaches, restaurants, and shopping centers. Originally the farmhouse of an early Umhlanga fruit farm, the six-sleeper main cottage, known as Oyster Lodge, has been elegantly renovated, while the spacious two-sleeper Pearl Cottage was constructed from scratch.

The road leading to the cottages is lined with acacia trees, and guests are welcomed by a well-manicured garden with partial sea views. The cottages are serviced daily from Monday to Friday, with weekend servicing and babysitting available at an additional cost. Laundry facilities are fully equipped for the convenience of guests.

Oyster Lodge is a three-bedroom self-catering house that can accommodate up to six guests. The main bedroom is en-suite with a full bathroom, while the two other bedrooms have two single beds each and share a spacious bathroom. All bedrooms are air-conditioned. The lounge and dining areas are inviting, comfortable, and tastefully appointed. These areas are connected to the veranda via wide timber folding doors, allowing cool breezes to filter through and linking the interior of the cottage to the garden and sea views, creating an ideal setting for al fresco dining. A widescreen television connected to a satellite decoder and DVD player is provided. The unit also features a fully equipped and functional kitchen, including a dishwasher, and barbecue and braai equipment are also provided.
