Palala Kingfisher Cottage

Palala Kingfisher Cottage is situated within a privately owned 3000ha game reserve in the Waterberg area of the Limpopo Province. The cottage can accommodate up to 10 people. The main house sleeps six people and has a bathroom, a lounge area with a fireplace, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with crockery, cutlery, a two-ring stove, a kettle, and a toaster. Guests need to bring their own food, drinks, and possibly ice.

The cottage also has two rondawels, each sleeping two people, and each rondawel has its own bathroom. Bath towels and bed linen are provided. Kingfisher Cottage features a splash pool and a large braai area with a covered garage. Wood is available for purchase at R20 per bundle. Guided walks and game drives are available on request and are subject to availability due to Jembisa Lodge taking priority.

The cottage is situated in a malaria-free reserve that offers an escape to the peace and tranquility of the bush. The reserve has a wide diversity of game, including leopards, hippos, and crocodiles. 7km of the beautiful Palala River winds through the middle of the reserve. The reserve is only three hours from Johannesburg, making it great for self-drive excursions, and features abundant bird life, giraffes, Burchell's zebras, kudus, elands, impalas, warthogs, bush pigs, and much more.

The cottage is perfect for families looking for a bush getaway. It has an expansive lawn, a children's play area, a plunge pool, and a bird hide that overlooks the Palala River. A 4x4 vehicle is not necessary to navigate the roads, but a high clearance vehicle is recommended.
