The Palala Podica Chalets consist of three rondavels built on the bank of the Palala River and the Wild Olive thicket, overlooking the beautiful view of the Palala River. Each chalet has a fully equipped kitchen, braai area, en-suite bathroom, and a lovely outdoor shower for the summer months. Towels and bed linen are provided, and firewood can be purchased at R20.00 per bundle.

The chalets offer an opportunity to escape to the peace and tranquility of the bush, with a wide diversity of game including leopards, hippos, and crocodiles. The Palala River winds through the middle of the reserve for 7 km, and the area is malaria-free, located 3 hours' drive from Johannesburg. Abundant bird life and self-drive game viewing are available.

Guided walks and game drives are subject to availability and can be booked through Jembisa Lodge. Game on the reserve includes giraffes, Burchell's zebras, kudus, elands, gemsbucks, red hartebeests, impalas, warthogs, and bushpigs, among others. A 4x4 vehicle is not necessary to navigate the roads, but a vehicle with high clearance is recommended.

The chalets are equipped with crockery, cutlery, a two-ring stove, kettle, and toaster. Guests need to bring their own food and drinks, as well as ice if needed. Self-drive or walking on the reserve is permitted, and guided game drives and walks can be booked at an additional cost.
