Platteland Gastehuis is a small but luxurious owner-managed guest house located off the N18 in the Jan Kempdorp area. It is situated on the N18 road, which connects to the N12 road leading to Cape Town or Johannesburg, making it an ideal stopover for travelers heading to the Cape or Gauteng regions for either holiday or business purposes. Jan Kempdorp is the only town located in both the Northern Cape and North West provinces.

The guest house currently offers two double rooms with en-suite bathrooms, each stylishly decorated by the owner. The room facilities include DStv, a microwave, mini-fridge, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Guests can unwind and enjoy the beautiful view from their rooms, and safe undercover parking is provided. Each room has its own private braai area, and braai packs can be arranged. Platteland Gastehuis can also prepare breakfast and dinner on request for an additional fee, which can be served in the rooms or in the boma.
