Ploegfontein Guest Farm

Ploegfontein Guest Farm is a sheep farm located in the heart of the Southern Free State, offering accommodation in private cottages surrounded by gardens and open views of the farm and its surroundings. It provides a true Karoo hospitality experience.

The guest farm is situated 160 km south of Bloemfontein on the N1, making it an ideal stopover for travelers passing through the Free State. Comfortable accommodation is provided in open-plan cottages equipped with kitchenettes, microwaves, bar fridges, and bathrooms with towels and toiletries.

Dinner, featuring Karoo lamb served with fresh vegetables and dessert, is available upon request and should be booked before 12:00 on the day prior to arrival. Guests can enjoy activities such as bird watching, quiet walks through the veld, and a visit to the nearby Gariepdam, located 40 km south of the farm.

Ploegfontein Guest Farm is situated on a gravel road, approximately 7 km from the N1. As a working sheep farm, it offers families the opportunity to experience farm life, with long walks, a tennis court, and a large garden area for children to play.
