Port Edward Holiday Resort

Port Edward Holiday Resort is situated 150 kilometers south of Durban along the Indian Ocean, nestled among the rolling hills of Southern KwaZulu-Natal. The resort offers breathtaking ocean views with opportunities to spot dolphins and whales, while providing a serene beachfront experience.

Originally established in 1947 as the Port Edward Police Resort through Police Force donations, the facility has evolved into one of the lower south coast's most popular holiday destinations. The resort achieved a notable upgrade from its initial two-star rating in November 2006 to its current three-star status from the Grading Council of South Africa.

The resort offers diverse accommodation options, including a guesthouse and various self-catering chalets with configurations of six, four, and two beds. In total, there are 100 units providing 445 beds, plus a camping site. All units come fully equipped for self-catering needs and feature luxury braai facilities, allowing guests to enjoy outdoor cooking while taking in spectacular ocean views and moonlit evenings.

Additional amenities include three conference venues capable of hosting between 10 and 300 delegates, tennis courts, volleyball courts, swimming pools, and deep-sea fishing opportunities. The resort maintains a strict policy allowing only guide and service dogs on the premises, with proper documentation required. The facility is security-conscious with two guarded entrances, ensuring guest safety throughout their stay.
