Protea Cottage– Pringle Bay

Protea Cottage is situated on the mountainside of Pringle Bay. It offers a private and quiet location, despite the proximity of neighbors. The cottage features beautiful mountain views and limited long-distant sea views of Cape Point and Cape Town.

The cottage can accommodate up to 6 guests, but is best suited for 4 adults and 2 children. It comprises 3 bedrooms with comfortable beds. The first bedroom features a queen-size bed, the second bedroom has a double bed, and the third bedroom features 2 single beds. There is an additional back room with a double bed and a couch that can also be used for sleeping.

Guests are required to bring their own linen, but duvet inners, pillows, hand towels, and blankets for winter are provided. The cottage has 2 bathrooms and a separate toilet. The first bathroom is fitted with a shower and basin, while the second bathroom has a bath and toilet. Additionally, there is a hot and cold-water outdoor shower for use after a day at the beach.

The cottage comprises a large indoor braai and an open-plan kitchen and lounge area. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, a Smeg oven and gas stove top, a microwave, and a dishwasher for guests' convenience. There is also a dining table and chairs in the kitchen/lounge area. A TV is available for watching live-streamed movies on the complimentary WiFi using an HDMI cable (subject to any planned or unplanned situations that may occur and are out of the owner's control).

The house is fully secured by clearview fencing, an electric fence, and beams. Treat security as you would anywhere else in South Africa. There is no off-street parking currently, so cars need to park on the road.

The deck is equipped with a large umbrella, a table, and chairs. There are stairs leading to the garden, and small children must be supervised at all times when on the deck. Guests can relax in the garden, which has a pergola and recliners. The beach is just 1.3 km away, and the village, with shops and restaurants, is located 1.7 km away.

A basic inverter has been installed to provide power during load shedding, keeping the WiFi, alarm, electric fence, and some plugs in the house working for a few hours.

Pringle Bay is situated in the Kogelberg Biosphere, and responsible tourism and respect for the local baboon troop, as well as all other fauna and flora, are actively encouraged. While guests are welcome to relax and enjoy their stay, the cottage is not suitable for parties or loud music.
