Red Sands Country Lodge is situated on a 1800-hectare private game reserve located among the Kuruman hills. It features 17 different game species. The lodge is located between Kathu and Kuruman in the most central part of the Kalahari in the Northern Cape. It caters for conferences and is popular for weddings, spit braais, and other special occasions and functions. Game drives can be arranged, or guests are welcome to explore the reserve with their own vehicles.

The lodge is a bird watcher's paradise, with 54 different species of birds recorded and counting ongoing. It is presented as a safe and peaceful place to stay, whether for business, holiday, camping, or caravanning. The country lodge consists of a thatched reception area, a bar, and a renowned continental a la carte restaurant serving some of the best steaks in the area. It also features a swimming pool to cool off during the hot Kalahari summer days.

Accommodation is provided in either thatched rondavel-style chalets or fully equipped self-catering family chalets. All chalets are air-conditioned and offer barbeque facilities, while each campsite is equipped with a barbecue area, trees for shade, and an ablution facility. The thatched bungalows are open-plan with a queen bed, non-self-catering, a fridge, coffee station, an en-suite bathroom with shower and bath, DSTV (Guesthouse Package), a 32-inch LED TV, and air conditioning. The bungalows do not have a separate BBQ area. The campground and hills can be viewed from the premises.
