Reflections Eco-Reserve

Reflections Eco Reserve is a sustainable accommodation destination located in Wilderness, South Africa, approximately 4.5 hours from Cape Town. The reserve, owned and operated by Tim and Angelique Carr, spans 29 hectares of rehabilitated land alongside the Rondevlei Lake within the Garden Route National Park.

The property demonstrates a strong commitment to environmental conservation, operating entirely off-grid through wind and solar power. The owners have successfully cleared 42 hectares of alien vegetation as part of their active land rehabilitation programme, working to restore the natural ecosystem. Their conservation efforts have created a haven for wildlife, including 140 species of birds, resident Fish Eagles, Cape clawless otters, water mongoose, caracal, bushpig, grysbok, and grey duiker.

The accommodation offerings include four luxurious self-catering eco-chalets, each featuring three bedrooms with one queen and two twin configurations, accommodating up to six guests. For couples seeking a more intimate experience, lakeside luxury safari tents are available, complete with en-suite facilities, private braai areas, and self-catering kitchenettes. Continental breakfast is optional for tent guests.

The reserve's location on the Rondevlei, a designated Ramsar site where boating and fishing are prohibited, ensures a peaceful environment. Guests have easy access to beaches, forests, mountains, and numerous hiking trails within the surrounding Garden Route National Park.
