Rhenosterpoort Water Retreat is situated in the Waterberg Mountains and dissected by the Rhenoster River. It is a serene destination that has been a regular spot for hikers since 1996. To reach the property, a high-rise vehicle is required due to the terrain.

The retreat offers two marked hiking trails, one spanning 10 km and the other 12 km. In response to past requests for alternative accommodation options beyond the primitive bush camps, a self-catering chalet overlooking a farm dam on the Rhenoster River has been introduced. This chalet provides an ideal setting for a peaceful family getaway, offering opportunities for hiking, fishing, and bird watching, as well as simply relaxing amidst the tranquil natural surroundings.

The area is malaria-free, and the chalet's proximity to a permanent water source makes it a perfect destination during the summer months, when guests can enjoy swimming in the natural rock pools. Additionally, the vicinity offers a variety of activities, including visits to the Marakele National Park, the quaint village of Vaalwater, the Cheetah Feeding Tour at the de Wildt-Shingwedzi Cheetah Farm, and more.

The Stone Chalet can accommodate up to four guests in an open-plan bedroom with a double bed and a double bunk. It features an en-suite bathroom and a fully equipped kitchenette. There is a private braai area with a place for a campfire, ideal for enjoying a cool sundowner after a hot summer's day. Please note that no pets are allowed on the premises, and there is no cellphone reception in the area. However, guests are welcome to use the WIFI available at the main farmhouse if needed.
