Rhino River Lodge

Rhino River Lodge is a family-owned and operated Big 5 safari lodge situated in the 57,000-acre Manyoni Private Game Reserve in Zululand, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Located just three hours north of King Shaka International Airport in Durban and 30 kilometers north of Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, the lodge is known for its welcoming atmosphere and family-friendly safari activities.

The lodge can accommodate 24 guests across various accommodation types, including Deluxe Rooms, Family Loft Chalets, and two Private Safari Houses (the Cottage and Homestead). All accommodations feature air-conditioning, ceiling fans, private verandahs, mosquito nets, coffee and tea stations, and fully stocked mini-bars. The Private Safari Houses additionally offer large private decks and plunge pools.

Daily activities center around morning and evening game drives guided by knowledgeable rangers. Visitors can expect to encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, leopard, giraffe, cheetah, and rhino, along with abundant birdlife. The Manyoni Private Game Reserve, meaning "place of the birds" in Zulu, hosts 415 recorded bird species and is committed to conservation efforts, particularly for endangered species like cheetah and rhino.

The lodge's main areas include a swimming pool, lounge, and dining room positioned on the banks of the Msunduze River, surrounded by Sycamore Fig and Fever Trees. A boma area provides space for evening gatherings around the campfire. The cuisine focuses on traditional South African flavors and dishes, complemented by a carefully selected wine list.
