Richmond House Cottages

Richmond House Cottages consists of three upmarket self-catering cottages situated on a historic view site built in the 1840s. The cottages are surrounded by coastal bush and gardens and are just a short walk away from both the river and the sea.

The two-bedroom units can accommodate up to four guests, and each cottage has its own unique decor and ambience, offering a cozy, tranquil, and historically interesting stay. Birdsong, shady ancient trees, pristine coastal bush, and unmatched views are all striking features of this property. Richmond House is an ideal getaway for a private executive retreat or mini-conference. Classical and jazz concerts are held on site in the museum, which houses and displays the history of the Richmond House estate. A full range of services is available on site, as well as local recreational activities.

Sandymount Cottage is ideal for honeymooners, offering privacy and comfort with garden views set amongst coral trees and blooming aloes in winter time. Port Alfred's 18-hole golf course is a two-minute drive from the accommodation. Magnificent sea views and frequent sightings of whales and dolphins can be enjoyed in summer.

Fig Tree and Ship Ahoy Cottages are ideal for families of four, and children under the age of six years old are welcomed. These cottages are located within easy walking distance of both the river and the sea. Fig Tree Cottage is a fully equipped self-catering, two-bedroom cottage sleeping up to four people. It features a combination of twin, king, or double beds. The cottage has an open-plan lounge, kitchen, and dining area with a fireplace, as well as a generously equipped kitchen with an automatic dishwasher. The full bathroom contains a bath and shower, while an outside hot and cold shower is open to the trees and stars. Breakfasts can also be provided by prior arrangement.
