Rio Dos Elefantes River Lodge is situated magnificently on the Olifants and the Blyderivier. The lodge is located on the northern bank of the Olifantsriver in the Balule Nature Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. It stands on a rise above the river, surrounded by sprawling lawns and towering indigenous trees. The river, home to numerous aquatic creatures such as hippopotamuses and crocodiles, is also a haven for various antelope species, elephants, and the inevitable carnivores of the region. For bird enthusiasts, the abundance of water and giant trees harbors a wide variety of avian species, from the majestic Fish Eagle to the smallest marsh dwellers.

The lodge offers daily game drives, full-day Kruger Park Safaris, guided bush walks, visits to the Moholoholo Rehab Centre, the Panorama Route, a chance to see Jessica (the world-famous National Geographic hippopotamus), the Hoedspruit Reptile Park, and Blyde Dam Cruises, which can be booked separately. Those booking the River View Honeymoon Cottage can have the lodge assist in arranging a game drive for a truly romantic safari holiday. The lodge also caters to families, offering units perfectly suited for them and assistance in booking a family game drive.

The accommodation includes garden view rooms with a patio overlooking the garden. Each room features a queen-sized bed, a single bed, and a bathroom with a shower, toilet, and basin.
