River Cottages

River Cottages offers both recreational and overnight accommodation in a riverside environment. It has three fully equipped self-catering houses that can sleep up to 12 guests per house, as well as seven 2-Sleeper self-catering units and two 4-Sleeper units. The houses are located right on the banks of the Vaal River in Parys, while the 2-sleeper units are 200 meters away from the river, but still within a two-minute stroll to the river. There are swimming pools, lapas, and built-in braai facilities spread across the property for hot, lazy summer days.

The location is suitable for functions and special occasions, as the property is large and picturesque, and it has function/conference/restaurant facilities on site. River Cottages can host groups for bachelor/ettes, bikers, other club functions, team building events, and more. The small country town of Parys lies on the banks of the Vaal River, approximately an hour's drive from Johannesburg and an hour and a half from Pretoria. Parys is primarily a farming community but has become a popular recreation town due to the numerous outdoor activities on offer, the Vaal River, and its proximity to major cities.

The Vaal River runs for about 1 kilometer through the property, and its banks are lined with weeping willows and reeds, making it perfect for water-related activities such as fishing, canoeing, and river rafting. There are also lovely hiking and 4X4 trails in and around the town, as well as art, antique, and coffee shops, and a wide range of excellent restaurants. River Cottages looks forward to sharing its paradise with visitors.

The 2-Sleeper unit can accommodate 2 people and 4 on request. It consists of 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom with a shower, and a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering with all the necessary crockery, cutlery, glasses, fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, kettle, pots, pans, and kitchen accessories. The bedroom has a TV with DStv channels. The 2-sleeper unit complex is about 200 meters away from the riverfront and has access to a communal entertainment area that includes a swimming pool, lapas, picnic tables, and built-in braai stands.
