Rivergate Guest Farm

Rivergate Guest Farm is a charming countryside retreat situated on the banks of the Klein River, just 2.3km from Stanford and 23km from Hermanus, South Africa. The working farm combines authentic farm living with understated luxury in its self-catering accommodations.

The property offers seven distinct cottages, ranging from intimate one-bedroom suites to a spacious three-bedroom house. Each accommodation features well-equipped kitchens, living areas, braai facilities, and private wood-fired hot tubs that double as plunge pools in summer. All bedrooms include en-suite bathrooms, and the cottages are thoughtfully positioned within landscaped gardens designed by renowned landscape architect Franchesca Watson.

The farm's 15-acre grounds include flourishing vegetable gardens, orchards, and flower beds that supply fresh produce to the on-site eatery. The Barn, open Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, serves seasonal lunches, freshly baked cakes, and houses a farm shop offering artisanal products and homemade preserves.

Guests can enjoy various activities including river fishing, swimming, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding. The farm experience is enhanced by the presence of friendly animals, including alpacas, free-roaming chickens, and miniature donkeys. The venue also hosts monthly themed events and caters for special occasions, conferences, and functions.

The accommodation options include the three-bedroom Gatehouse Cottage, two-bedroom Stable and Potters Shed Cottages, the unique round Woodrose Cottage, and three one-bedroom suites - the Gardener's Cottage, Carpenter's Cottage, and Dairy Shed, each with its own distinct character and amenities.
