Rixile Kruger Lodge

Rixile Kruger Lodge offers a unique self-catering accommodation experience within the original boundary of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, just five minutes from the Kruger National Park's main entrance. The lodge, whose name "Rixile" means sunrise in Tsonga, is thoughtfully constructed around majestic knob-thorn trees, creating a seamless integration with its natural surroundings.

The main lodge features an impressive open-plan living space with triple-volume ceilings, wrap-around ceiling windows, and fully retractable sliding doors that create an immersive bushveld experience. The modern kitchen is comprehensively equipped with various amenities, including a gas stove, double fridge, ice maker, and Nespresso machine. A welcoming lounge area with a fireplace and distinctive basket lighting creates an atmospheric setting.

The accommodation comprises three well-appointed bedrooms. The master bedroom includes a king-sized bed, a full en-suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers, a free-standing bath, and a private sun deck overlooking the bush. Two identical additional bedrooms feature queen-sized beds, en-suite facilities with indoor and outdoor showers, and dressing tables.

The outdoor areas include a covered dining and lounge space where guests can observe local wildlife, including impala, nyala, kudu, and bushbuck. A deck with a pool and sun loungers provides relaxation options, while a large boma with a fire pit and braai area offers perfect stargazing opportunities. Although the property is fenced off from neighboring Big 5 reserves, guests can often hear lions and hyenas at night.

A separate self-catering cottage on the property accommodates two guests, featuring a queen-sized bed, fully equipped kitchen, and an open-plan lounge area with TV and Netflix access. The nearby Protea Hotel offers additional dining options for guests preferring not to self-cater.
