Rockwood Earth Lodge is a unique and private breakaway house located in the Champagne Valley, just past the Drakensberg Boy's School. The lodge offers a view of Cathkin Peak & Giant's back, a mountain range that derives its name from the shape of a sleeping giant. The original farmhouse has been lovingly restored over a period of four years by an individual referred to as the Rockwood Fella. It provides self-catering accommodation in the colonial main house, which features a patio that stretches around and a pizza oven. Additionally, there is a romantic cave called 'The Rock' located next to the rock pool, separate from the main house. Both units are equipped with a kitchen and braai facilities.

Guests can enjoy various activities on the premises, including swimming in the pool, cycling, and relaxing in the garden. Several activities are available within a 10 to 30-minute drive from the lodge, such as hiking, horse riding, helicopter flips, and more. The original farm house was lovingly restored over four years by the Rockwood Fella to create a sense of complete oneness with nature. It aims to transport visitors back to colonial times in the uKhahlamba World Heritage site, when animals roamed freely and tribal people lived their daily existence, and wars were an eventuality to claim pieces of this splendor. Reed buck and Duiker find refuge in the surrounding indigenous garden, and at night, a million billion stars appear overhead, winking a peaceful slumber, ensuring a sense of safety.
