Rocky Drift Private Nature Reserve

Rocky Drift Private Nature Reserve is a family-operated sanctuary nestled in the scenic Elands Valley Conservancy, located 290 km from Johannesburg on the N4 between Waterval Boven and Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, South Africa. The reserve encompasses 257 hectares of mountainous terrain, widely regarded as some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Waterval Boven district.

The property features diverse accommodation options, including self-catering cottages, glamping facilities, and 13 unique campsites situated along the Joubert Spruit. The cottages come fully equipped with essential amenities, while the glamping option offers a luxury camping experience. The reserve provides modern facilities including WiFi, a swimming pool, and an on-site restaurant serving local and international cuisine.

The reserve's natural environment is sustained by the Joubert Spruit, a tributary of the Elands River, which has provided reliable water supply for over 60 years. The property holds historical significance, having served as a refuge for President Paul Kruger's Commandos during his exile journey to Lourenco Marques (now Maputo). Historical artifacts, including rock encampments, Martini Henry rifle shells, and enamel mugs from Boer soldiers, are occasionally discovered on the grounds.
