Rooiheuwel Holiday Farm

Rooiheuwel Holiday Farm is situated at the foothills of the Nuveld Mountains in the Great Karoo, 80 kilometers west of Beaufort West and 60 kilometers north of Leeu Gamka. It is a self-catering guest farm that serves as an oasis in the harsh Karoo landscape. The establishment offers guests an authentic Karoo experience, graced by silence, tranquility, peace, and an open starry sky at night.

Accommodation options at Rooiheuwel Holiday Farm include two fully equipped farmhouses, a fully equipped cottage, a mountain chalet, a farm shed for overnight stays with an indoor fireplace, a stone shepherd's house in the veld, and camping sites under thorn trees with ablution facilities. The farm is pet-friendly.

In addition to the farm's sheep and game, there is an exotic bird collection. Guests can order the famous Karoo lamb and boerewors for the duration of their stay or to take home. Firewood is available for purchase.

Rooiheuwel Holiday Farm offers an opportunity for children to experience real farm life, without cell phones or television, and a chance for visitors to find peace for their souls. The establishment assures that no one will return home untouched after a Karoo farm holiday.

The hunting house, named Bloubos, is equipped with all amenities and features four bedrooms, two rooms with double beds and bunk beds with en-suite bathrooms, two rooms with two single beds and one bunk bed each, and one bathroom with a shower, bathtub, toilet, and basin. It has a large living area with an indoor braai and an open-plan kitchen with a gas stove, microwave, and fridge freezer. Outside, there is a lapa with a stone pond.
