Rorke's Drift Lodge is situated against the Sinqindi Mountains, overlooking the battlefields of Rorke's Drift and Isandlwana. The lodge is set on a 305-hectare property and offers guests an intimate and private experience of the African bush. It has four self-contained units available for rent on a self-catering basis. The lodge also operates a kitchen open from 7 am to 7 pm, and guests can order lunches and dinners from the kitchen if they do not wish to cook for themselves.

Guests traveling to Rorke's Drift Lodge are advised to travel during the day, as there are no street lights in the area. The lodge is well signposted from 30 kilometers away, but the road is not tarred, and the last 5 kilometers is a farm track. It is recommended that guests hiring vehicles request a vehicle with high clearance, such as a Nissan X-Trail. Check-in times at the lodge are strictly between 3 pm and 7 pm, with the gates closing at 7 pm.

The lodge offers off-the-beaten-track experiences, including walks and horseback riding on the 300-hectare grounds. The units are non-detached and offer rooms with views. Each self-contained unit includes a bedroom, bathroom, and lounge, accommodating a maximum of 10 people. One of the most unique units offers sweeping views of the battlefields, a fully equipped kitchen, an outside BBQ facility, a lounge with satellite TV, a separate double-story main bedroom with a double bed, and a downstairs bathroom accessible via a spiral staircase.
