Rorkes Drift Hotel

The Rorke's Drift Hotel is situated overlooking the Buffalo River on the slopes of Shiyane/The Oscarberg in the rolling hills of Zululand. The historic crossing that gives the area its name is located within the hotel grounds and served as a connection between the battles of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift.

The hotel offers modern and comfortable facilities designed to cater to the needs of discerning travelers seeking peaceful relaxation amidst iconic history and natural countryside. The round buildings, with their natural-colored finishes and thatched roofs, draw inspiration from the Zulu tradition, while their unique roof design provides spacious rooms and generous natural light. The accommodation units, referred to as "forts," feature open centers that provide access to each of the double en-suite rooms. While the exteriors of these units embrace the traditional Zulu style, the interiors and finishes are inspired by Victorian design. The furnishings in the rooms reflect the era of the Victorian soldier, with each room named after a distinguished warrior from the campaign.
