Guests can enjoy the crisp Karoo air, gaze at the billions of stars and the Milky Way in the night sky, and watch satellites passing overhead, offering a soulful experience. Gariep Dam, voted Tourist Town of the Year in 2010, is a crime-free area.

Visitors can indulge in superb water sports, yachting, fishing, and game reserves, as well as microlite and gyro activities, which have made Gariep Dam South Africa's number one destination for these pursuits. Rose Cottage is divided into multiple separate and independent, fully equipped self-catering units. All units feature Simonz or Spine-Master beds with high-quality, ice-white linen and towels for added comfort. Most units are equipped with air conditioning for hot Karoo days, as well as heaters and indoor braai areas for chilly nights. Each unit has a charming lapa where guests can enjoy the peaceful surroundings or host a braai or picnic. The units are equipped with TVs, with most featuring LCD flat-screen TVs with Open View decoders, and offer undercover parking for vehicles and trailers.

All units have access to the pool, and guests are welcome to enjoy any fruit from the on-site fruit trees. Rates are inclusive of electricity, linen, towels, toiletries, and coffee, tea, and sugar in each unit. Guests have access to the garden, fruit trees, swimming pool, and on-site parking. The accommodation offers good, clean, and neat accommodations at reasonable rates, with select units providing free WiFi.
