Rostock Ritz Desert Lodge

The Rostock Ritz Desert Lodge is a luxury accommodation nestled against a mountain slope near the Sossusvlei and Namib Naukluft Park in Namibia. The lodge offers an exclusive desert experience away from tourist crowds, combining warm hospitality with personalized service in an untouched natural setting.

The property features 11 luxury African-style bungalows, each equipped with private bathrooms including spacious showers and solar-powered water heating systems. The bungalows are thoughtfully positioned to maximize views across the Namib Desert, with private patios offering spectacular vistas of the landscape bathed in desert light. Guests can choose between comfortable twin or king-size bed configurations.

The main lodge facilities include an à la carte restaurant serving excellent meat dishes with fresh vegetables and salads, and a swimming pool offering magnificent views across southern Africa. The venue can accommodate up to 40 overnight guests and cater for events of up to 60 people, making it ideal for conferences and desert weddings, which can be held either poolside or among the dunes.

For camping enthusiasts, the lodge offers private campsites located approximately 7 km from the main building. These sites feature individual barbecue and water facilities, with access to a communal kitchen and separate ablution facilities offering afternoon hot showers.

The lodge provides various activities including hiking trails and a 4x4 Off Road Drive excursion to view local cave paintings, which typically runs for 3-4 hours in the afternoon. Other attractions include the Sundowner walking trail, Sunrise walking trail, Plateau/plains hiking trail, Panorama hiking trail, and visits to the Ubib Gaub spring and Bushman paintings.
