Rotterdam Estates, established in 1794, is a historic property with a distinguished heritage, notably as the former residence of Grand Prix racer Mr. Ian Fraser Jones. Currently managed by his grandson Ian Fraser-Jones, the estate remains in the Jones family's ownership.
The estate offers boutique accommodation in two historic buildings: De Wagenhuis, which features seven luxury rooms, including three with private sun-drenched balconies overlooking the pastures, and the Fraser Jones building. A notable feature of the property is its Chapel, constructed in 2009 by Mr. and Mrs. Fraser Jones, which can accommodate 60 guests and showcases handcrafted stained-glass windows, each bearing personal significance through symbolism and color.
The estate serves as a versatile venue for various occasions, including weddings, honeymoons, bachelorette parties, family holidays, and business retreats. While the on-site restaurant is temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, breakfast can be arranged upon request.
Located in the Buffeljagsrivier area, which is known for being family-friendly, the estate is conveniently situated near several attractions. These include the Kwetu Game Farm, where guests can enjoy sunset picnics while viewing wildlife, and the town of Swellendam, located 10 kilometers away, which features an 18-hole golf course with views of the Langeberg Mountains and Hermitage valley.
