Sandveld Dorpshuys is a gateway to Redelinghuys, offering an excellent base from which to explore the many activities and scenic countryside. The century-old Sandveld Dorpshuys provides beautiful rooms, appropriately named after some of the abundant bird species found in the area, with some rooms offering luxurious en-suite bathrooms. All guest house rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with TVs.

For guests looking to self-cater, kitchen facilities with microwaves are provided. Depending on the room type, rooms are comfortably furnished with double, single, or bunk beds. A laundry service is available at an additional fee. For larger groups, Lepelleer, Piet-my-vroutjie, and Suikerbossie can be joined. Comfortable backpacking and camping accommodation are also available, with backpacker rooms furnished with single beds, and linen and pillows provided. Each camp and caravan site has water and electricity points, and the ablution and laundry facilities are shared with the backpacker rooms.

Guests can relax on the big verandas and enjoy the beautiful gardens. The evening skies are perfect for stargazing while enjoying the campfires at the big lapa. Braai wood and picnic packs can be provided, and for a dinner or barbecue, guests can request in advance. The children's playground is sure to keep the little ones busy, as well as the abundance of farm animals. Guests can make use of the communal swimming pool, but children are not permitted to swim without adult supervision. The Coffee Shop offers delicious confectionery, homemade savory treats, and light lunches. Conference facilities are also available, with meals and accommodation.

The area offers a variety of activities and places to see. It is renowned for Verlorenvlei, with its abundant bird life of more than 180 species. Guests can visit Khoi San art and caves at Agterdam, the Potato Cold storage which was once the Dutch Reformed church, Vegkop, the old Rectory and Bakoven, an archaeological excavation site, or Rocherpan Nature Reserve. Various 4x4 trails and game drives can be done in the area. For fishermen, there is river and sea fishing, and guests can go on hiking or mountain biking trails. There are 25 sites, with 4 people per site.
