Schoemanshof is a historic farm located at Nooitgedacht, on the banks of the Vaal River, approximately 20 kilometers from Potchefstroom in the Vredefort Dome World Heritage Site. It offers a peaceful retreat away from the city, where visitors can wake up to the call of the Fish eagle and enjoy the beautiful African nature.

The farm has belonged to the Schoeman family since 1856, and is currently owned by GP and Hesmu221au00a9 Schoeman. Some of the original buildings, such as the old waenhuis (wagon house), the klipkraal (stone kraal), and the landmuur (boundary wall), have survived from the early pioneer era and the war of 1899 to 1902, when many buildings in the former Transvaal and Free State were burned down. Evidence of the war can be found in the cellar, where shrapnel has damaged the ceiling and roof, and in the foundations of the old house that was burned down by British troops.

The farm is well-known for its superb yellow-fish waters, offering an opportunity for enthusiasts to experience catching this indigenous fish on a fly. Additionally, there are hiking routes, as well as ideal routes for jogging and mountain biking on the premises. Nearby activities include game-viewing and river rafting.

Schoemanshof also features ruins of Iron Age kraals and the Amazon mine, where gold was mined from 1886. Accommodation is available in a two-bedroom house next to the Vaal River, with each bedroom sleeping two people in double beds, and an additional four single beds in a loft. The house has two bathrooms, one en-suite with a bath and shower, and the other with a shower only. The rate is R2400 per night for a maximum of eight people.
