Shakati Private Game Reserve

Shakati Private Game Reserve is located along the Mokolo River, situated within the malaria-free Waterberg UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, approximately 2u00bd hours' drive from Johannesburg. It is a small and affordable safari lodge that offers a lounge, dining area, boma, pool, a lush garden, and three comfortable self-catering chalets with verandahs and private braai areas (firewood is available for purchase). Each chalet can accommodate 4-6 persons. Catering services are available upon request, which must be ordered at least three days prior to arrival. All accommodation units are surrounded by an electric fence for safety and security purposes.

The reserve is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, kudus, reedboks, hartebeests, elands, blesboks, duikers, steenboks, warthogs, impalas, jackals, hyenas, porcupines, and more. Guests can enjoy guided game drives and walks with the reserve manager, as well as the opportunity to sleep over in a waterhole hide and experience the sights and sounds of the African night. Shakati Private Game Reserve is also a suitable venue for small wedding arrangements, with staff and a chef dedicated to meeting specific requirements.

The reserve offers a small lodge within a private safari environment, boasting spectacular views and an abundance of wild animals. Guided drives and walks are available, and guests are also permitted to explore the reserve on their own. The reserve is well-suited for individuals, groups, self-catering, or catering upon request. It is located approximately 1u00bd hours from the Marakele National Park, which is home to the Big Five. The secluded chalets and private braai facilities make Shakati an ideal romantic getaway for couples, with the option of having the chef prepare something special upon request. Additionally, there are golf courses located in Lephalale and Modimolle, approximately 1 hour's drive from the reserve.
