Shikwari Nature Reserve

Shikwari Nature Reserve is located in Hoedspruit, Limpopo Province, South Africa, conveniently situated near Kruger National Park and the Panorama Route. The reserve comprises two distinct accommodation options: the luxurious Shikwari Suites, which holds a prestigious 4-star TGCSA rating, and the more economical Pangolin Rondavels.

The reserve is home to various plains game species, including Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest, Kudu, Impala, Nyala, Bush Buck, Duiker, Steenbok, and Ostrich, along with diverse birdlife. The property does not house dangerous game, making it safe for guests to explore.

Shikwari Suites features six private junior suites, each harmoniously integrated into the natural bushveld. The main area includes a lounge with Premium DSTV, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a swimming pool offering scenic views. Each suite can accommodate two adults and up to two children aged 5-12 years.

Pangolin Rondavels consists of four traditional thatched units, with two featuring private "Bush Bathrooms" (outdoor shower, covered toilet, and basin), while the other two share bathroom facilities. All rooms are equipped with luxury percale linen, towels, wardrobes, seating areas, and tea/coffee facilities. Neither accommodation option offers in-room television or Wi-Fi.

The reserve provides guided game drives with FGASA-qualified guides to Kruger Park and neighboring private reserves. Additional activities include walks within the reserve and day trips to the Panorama Route. Activities such as boat trips, quad biking, and ballooning are available with advance booking.

Children aged 5-12 years are welcomed at both camps with special rates when sharing with parents. Teenagers (13-18 years) are accommodated either in their own room or with an adult and younger siblings at adjusted rates.

All dining takes place at the Shikwari Suites main area, with various board options available to guests at both camps. The reserve also caters to intimate weddings for up to 120 guests, with on-site accommodation for 18 people and arrangements available for additional guests at nearby lodges.
