Shumbalala Game Lodge

The Shumbalala Game Lodge is a five-star graded private game lodge situated in a private game reserve adjacent to the greater Kruger National Park. It offers an African safari experience, where guests can observe an abundance of birds and animals, including the Big Five, roaming the savannas and riverine forests.

The lodge accommodates a limited number of guests at a time in four Superior thatched suites or a two-bedroom presidential suite. All accommodations feature fireplaces, overhead fans, air conditioning, "picture window" bathrooms, two showers (one outdoor for a romantic experience), private viewing decks, and individually furnished interiors.

The two-bedroom presidential suite, which has been occupied by the South African vice president, features additional amenities such as a private dining room, lounge, a large viewing deck, and a fireside facility.

Guests have access to various relaxation areas, including the Shumbalala library, curio shop, lounge area, a viewing deck overlooking a waterhole frequented by wildlife, and a unique underground cellar with a view of the seasonal Monwana river, on whose banks all the suites are built. Additionally, the lodge offers spacious double private suites within its own "Villa" with a wrap-around deck, private splash pool, lounge, and dining area divided by a large open fireplace. Each room comprises a bedroom, en-suite bathroom, large glass sliding doors, and a thatched roof.
