Sibuya Game Reserve

Sibuya Game Reserve is a unique game reserve in South Africa where access is exclusively by boat via the Kariega River. The reserve offers an under canvas experience with luxury en-suite tents on raised wooden decks. Guests are collected at the river mouth in the town of Kenton on Sea and taken on a gentle cruise up the estuary to the game reserve, located 9 kilometers upstream.

The reserve has two camps: the River Camp with four tents and the Forest Camp with eight tents, providing an exclusive and personalized experience for guests. Visitors can map out their own program with a guide, which can include game drives, river cruises, guided bush or beach walks, and excellent bird watching opportunities. For those seeking more active pursuits, canoeing and deep-sea fishing can be arranged at reasonable rates.

One of the highlights of the Sibuya Game Reserve experience is the splendid vistas of game against the backdrop of pristine coastal forest and the nearby sea. Evenings are spent around the campfire, listening to the sounds of the river and the bush while enjoying the reserve's cuisine. The absence of electricity ensures a truly immersive bush camp experience without modern distractions.

Sibuya Game Reserve caters to families, offering a 50% discount for children under 12 years old who share with their parents in the River Camp, which is child-friendly. The Forest Camp does not accommodate children under 12. The reserve is home to nearly 400 species of birds and 45 species of game, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), ensuring an excellent game-viewing experience.

Additional services available at Sibuya Game Reserve include massages in the privacy of the tents or suites, champagne on arrival, special honeymoon turn-downs, and private dinners served on the deck. The reserve also hosts weddings for up to 100 people without charging a venue hire fee, but requires all 12 tents to be booked during the wedding period.
