Silver Hill Lodge

Silver Hill Lodge is a privately owned estate located in the Kamberg Valley of the Central Drakensberg. It is situated approximately 35 minutes away from Nottingham Road and Mooi River. The Little Berg mountain range, including Mount Cleopatra, Mount Erskine, and Mount Lebanon, provides the backdrop for the estate, which consists of a Bed and Breakfast Lodge and two self-catering units.

The area is popular among nature lovers, hikers, and fishermen due to its peaceful and tranquil environment. Various activities are available for energetic individuals, such as hiking, fly-fishing, boating, volleyball, and a 300-meter golf driving range. For those seeking relaxation, the surroundings offer an opportunity to unwind, while children can enjoy a play area with a swimming pool, trampoline, and jungle gym.

The estate features trout fishing in its dams, rivers, and streams that run abundantly through the property. Small waterfalls cascade down the higher grounds of the mountain slopes, and little springs emerge unexpectedly. With five dams on the estate, it also features its own mountain and natural forest.

Visitors can enjoy picnics or sundowners by the river banks, around a wood fire, or listen to the sound of the river gushing over rocks into rock pools, which provide opportunities for swimming or cooling off during the summer months. Walking trails and hikes along the estate and up the mountain offer scenic views of the Kamberg Valley, as well as opportunities to observe various flora, fauna, and wildlife such as buck and eland.

The estate also offers camp sites with spectacular mountain views, braai facilities, and lush grass. The camp sites have private bathrooms equipped with toilets, basins, mirrors, and large hot water showers. In front of the camp sites, a mountain stream and hiking trails are available. It should be noted that there is no electricity available at the camp sites.
