Simbavati Hilltop Lodge

Simbavati Hilltop Lodge is situated within the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger Park. The lodge provides an exclusive, authentic, and unforgettable African safari experience. It offers magnificent views of the bush, the Nhlaralumi River, and the distant foothills of the Drakensberg Mountain Range from the vantage point of a small koppie on which it is situated.

The accommodation comprises individual pavilion-style luxury tents arranged to create a unique village feel. Each suite consists of two individual tents: one for the main bedroom and a separate bathroom linked by a passage that can be opened up on one side, allowing for an indoor or private outdoor shower experience. The placement of the tented-suites ensures privacy and a tranquil and intimate stay. Some suites are situated to provide breathtaking views and are accessible via steep stairs. Guests with mobility impairments should specify their needs when booking.

The lodge offers Big 5 game activities in the early morning and late afternoon or evening, taking advantage of the animals' natural activity patterns. Nocturnal creatures, including big cats, are regularly sighted at night. Over 40 mammal species, including the Big 5, endangered species like wild dogs and cheetahs, and an abundance of birdlife with 360 species, reside in the Timbavati.

Traditional African massage is offered, honoring the cultural heritage. Guests can indulge in authentic and traditional massage techniques by highly skilled and trained therapists. Game drives are conducted by experienced field guides and Shangaan trackers in open 4X4 vehicles, providing excellent photographic opportunities.
