The Skimmelberg Getaway is a renovated self-catering farmhouse that was built in 1990. It is set on a working rooibos tea, buchu, and citrus farm located between Citrusdal and Clanwilliam, approximately 200 kilometers from Cape Town on the N7 highway. The characterful old house can accommodate up to eight guests and is an ideal self-catering getaway for families, groups of friends, or couples who want to unwind and experience the beauty and tranquility of the natural surroundings of the greater Cederberg area.

The house features four double bedrooms, one with a full en-suite bathroom, and the other three bedrooms sharing a full bathroom with a separate toilet. The open-plan living area includes comfortable seating, a TV with full premium DSTV channels, and an eight-seater dining room table. Additionally, there is a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. All rooms are equipped with heaters, and bed linen and towels are provided. The house also has an indoor fireplace and braai facilities outside, with firewood available for purchase on the farm.

The farm office offers a lovely product shop where visitors can browse through a range of delicious teas and souvenirs. Guests can enjoy various activities such as hiking, swimming in the farm dam, bird watching, rock art paintings, and long walks on scenic farm roads. The farm and wider area are popular among rock climbers, anglers, and mountain bike enthusiasts. The endemic Cape Fynbos and various game and bird species contribute to the experience of being in the wilderness of the Skimmelberg Nature Reserve. Buchu and Rooibos Tours are available to guests at a reduced rate, but prior booking is essential.

The farm is situated close to the main route into the Cederberg Wilderness Area, with its many attractions. The hosts have extensive knowledge of the area and can gladly advise guests on where to go for day trips. The quaint village of Clanwilliam, located 30 kilometers away, offers good restaurants, an art gallery, interesting shops, and historical attractions.
