Skipskop Chalets

Skipskop Chalets is located in Swellendam, Western Cape. It consists of three luxurious chalets situated in the main street near the town center. The chalets are designed in a style typical of old fisherman's cottages, with a modest touch. Each chalet comprises one bedroom, an open-plan kitchen and lounge, and a full bathroom/shower. Amenities include free Wi-Fi and selected DSTV channels for a comfortable stay.

The kitchen area is equipped with a microwave, bar-fridge, kettle, toaster, hotplate, crockery, and cutlery. The lounge area features an indoor barbeque/fireplace for cooler nights, a television with DSTV, chairs, and two single beds. The bedroom is furnished with a dressing table, a queen or two single beds, a ceiling fan, a built-in cupboard, linen, duvet(s), fresh towels, and electric blankets.

Swellendam offers a variety of activities, including walking, hiking, overnight huts, superb bird watching, mountain biking trails, a 9-hole golf course, tennis and squash courts, an airfield, an aero club for gliding and flying, canoeing on the Breede River, and water sports at the nearby Buffeljagsdam. Guests can visit the Drostdy museum, Bontebok Park, and the scenic Tradouwspass through Suurbraak, as well as take tours to the De Hoop nature reserve, Malagas pont, whale watching at Whitesands, and nearby wine towns.

After Cape Town and Stellenbosch, Swellendam is the third-oldest settlement in South Africa. Located at the foot of the picturesque Langeberg Mountains, Swellendam offers visitors an interest in history, nature, and outdoor activities. Situated on the N2, approximately 240 km (150 miles) from both Cape Town and George, Swellendam is an ideal choice for a halfway stopover or a base to explore the area.

The hosts, Stef and Alta Gouws, are more than accommodating and ensure guests have a comfortable stay. This unit consists of a queen-size bed with an electric blanket for winter, a ceiling fan for summer, and two single beds in the living area with a private bathroom. It can accommodate up to four guests sharing.
