Slievyre Game Farm

Slievyre Game Farm is a private nature reserve situated in the beautiful bushveld of the Natal Midlands, located 10 kilometers from Estcourt and the N3. It provides an ideal setting for family gatherings, quiet holidays, romantic getaways, or an overnight stopover. The camp is located within one hectare of fenced, mature, and well-maintained gardens and comprises five traditionally built stone and thatch chalets.

The camp can comfortably accommodate up to twenty-five guests. Four of the chalets feature twin or double beds, while one chalet sleeps three people, and the fifth is a nine-bed family chalet. All chalets have private en-suite shower rooms, and the kitchens are fully equipped with self-catering facilities. Fresh bedding and towels are provided for every guest, and the chalets are cleaned daily. Two lapa areas adjoin the chalets, offering tables, chairs, and built-in braai areas, which are cleaned daily, and firewood is restocked.

Slievyre spans an area of 2,000 hectares and is classified as bushveld. While exploring the farm on foot or by vehicle, visitors may encounter various animals, including giraffes, kudus, waterbucks, zebras, wildebeests, and numerous smaller antelope species. The farm is also home to over 200 species of birds.

Guests are welcome to fish free of charge, provided they bring their own tackle. All residential guests are invited to join in on game drives. Slievyre offers a range of amenities, such as a swimming pool with an adjoining children's pool, walking trails, fishing spots, bird-watching opportunities, game drives, 4x4 trails, a trampoline, a jungle gym, board games, quad trails, lawn games, and access to TV/DSTV/film library.

Nearby attractions include the Weenen Game Reserve (15 km), the Battlefields (45 km), the Central Drakensberg (50 km), the Midlands Meander (45 km), Howick Falls (75 km), Wagendrift Dam (15 km), and Fort Durnford (10 km).

This unit is a self-contained, standalone chalet with an open-plan layout, a small kitchenette, and an en-suite shower and toilet. It features one queen-size bed.
