Somerset Lodge is a spacious family-owned hotel and guesthouse with a warm, friendly atmosphere and comfortable en-suite bedrooms. It is the oldest recognized resting spot for travelers in the area, with the original Cape Dutch farmhouse dating back to 1850. Somerset Lodge, originally a horse and carriage changing station in Somerset West in 1895, is now a popular destination for both business and holiday travelers.

The lodge offers a warm welcome to all guests and is ideally located for business or pleasure. Each of the 14 rooms is individually decorated and has its own charm and character. All rooms have telephones, satellite television, en-suite bathrooms, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Friendly staff, secure parking, and free Wi-Fi all contribute to an enjoyable stay at Somerset Lodge. Guests can choose from single, twin, double, or family rooms. A popular honeymoon suite is also available.

Somerset Lodge is graded as a 3-star accommodation venue by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa and is on the AA Travel recommended accommodation list. It combines a hotel and guest house feel and is ideal for business travelers with all the facilities under one roof - accommodation, restaurant, bar, secure parking, and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast is healthy and hearty, and the lodge is noted for its home-style cooking and tasty meals. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the lodge. Lunch packs for business travelers can be pre-ordered.

Guests can relax in the local "Arksey Village Pub" after work and enjoy a beer or sample some of the fine Scotch, Irish, and single malt whiskies. The fully stocked bar is often "the coziest little room in Africa." The lodge looks forward to welcoming guests.
