Somerset Stables is a historic stable-like building dating back to circa 1856, which was purchased by Reinette Te Water Naude, wife of the late Dr Theo Te Water Naude, in 1997 and restored to its present form. The main dwelling was expanded with additional buildings in a U-shape layout, complete with a veranda and shutters. A beautiful garden was created, filled with various plants such as trees, roses, plumbago, lavender, bougainvillea, evening primrose, hibiscus, flowers, and herbs. The garden attracts various wildlife, including birds, bees, butterflies, and chameleons.

Somerset Stables is situated in a prime location within the town, away from the hustle and bustle yet within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and schools. The establishment offers large and comfortable en-suite bedrooms, stylishly decorated with TVs and Persian carpets. Each room has a private entrance, ensuring privacy and allowing guests to enjoy peace, tranquility, and comfort, as well as time for reflection or meditation.

The premises provide safe, undercover parking for vehicles, secured by a remote-controlled security gate. In the main house, guests can enjoy a hearty breakfast prepared in the farm-like kitchen. The interior of the house is adorned with antiques, Persian carpets, historical artifacts, conversation pieces, art, and collectibles. Somerset Stables is not a business but a sanctuary and home where guests are welcomed to enjoy a memorable stay and explore the town. Numerous restaurants are located within a 5 km radius, and credit cards are accepted.

One particular room offered at Somerset Stables is a large, comfortable double room furnished with a double bed, high-quality linen and towels, and a private bathroom with a shower. Toiletries are provided, and the non-smoking room is equipped with Wi-Fi, a TV with Netflix, air-conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, and a bar fridge. The room has a private entrance with a small deck in front.
