Spitskop Cottage

Spitskop Cottage is situated in Underberg, Kwa Zulu Natal. It is positioned above the village, offering sweeping, uninterrupted views of the Drakensberg mountain range. The property covers an area of 8.5 hectares. Johan, a trained National Guide, provides private day trips for activities such as birding, visits to the Yellowwood Forest, and exploring the surrounding areas.

The cottage is located at the base of the uKhahlamba World Heritage Site and is surrounded by the Drakensberg mountain range. Breakfast is available upon request, and free WiFi is provided. It is important to note that the drive up to the cottage may not be suitable for very low vehicles.

The cottage is ideal for a couple, featuring one bedroom with a queen-size bed. An extra bed can be arranged upon request. The bedroom is equipped with linen and an electric blanket, and it has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The lounge area includes sofas and an open fireplace. While there is no TV available, guests can inquire about the WiFi connection.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, featuring Burmese-teak fittings, a stove, a fridge, and a microwave. The cottage leads onto a large verandah with stunning views of the mountain range. Additionally, there is a sandstone courtyard with a fire pit and braai area.

Situated on 8.6 hectares overlooking the village of Underberg, the cottage is within easy reach of shops, horse riding facilities, fishing spots, and hiking trails. A visit to Lesotho and Sani Pass is a highlight, and guests are reminded to bring their passports. Private day trips are offered to guests by the host, Johan, who is a fully accredited National Guide specializing in birds of prey, general birding, flora, and fauna.

The cottage offers a secluded and private experience high above Underberg, with incredible views, beautiful sunrises, and sunsets, making it perfect for romantic sundowners. It is not located on the Underberg Golf Course but overlooks it. The cottage can accommodate two children on a sofa bed in the lounge.
