The Springfield Estate is situated on the Springfield Farm, which has been declared a Provincial Heritage Site within the Agulhas National Park. It is located at one of the southernmost points of land on the tip of South Africa. The surrounding area of Cape Agulhas, known as the strandveld or literally 'sandy land' in Afrikaans due to its sandy soils, is rich with endless coastlines, mountains covered with Fynbos, and Southern African wildlife.

The original farmhouse on the property predates 1889, when the farm was formally registered. It was the home of Lord de Saumarez, the English lord memorialized in Dalene Matthee's novel 'Driftwood'. A collection of three quaint old renovated thatch cottages, which can be rented individually, surround the English baronial hall.

One of the units features one bedroom, one bathroom, and a kitchenette.
