St Lucia Wilds Flatlet

The St Lucia Wilds Flatlet is an affordable accommodation option located in the main street on the lake side, away from the noise of town but within walking distance to shops and restaurants. It is part of an old converted house, but it does not share facilities with other units. The flatlet is set in a relaxing, tranquil garden with large trees and plenty of plants, offering a sunny, budget-style unit.

The flatlet has its own entrance, and it does not share access with other units. There are six steps leading to the only door, as the building is elevated. Due to building restrictions, this unit is unique in its design. It is well-equipped, neat, and tidy, with a mix of old and new, handmade furniture and fittings. The walls are plastered brick, the floors are tiled, and the bedroom is carpeted. There is no television provided.

The flatlet features a small bathroom with a shower, toilet, and basin. The single large bedroom contains a double bed, two single bunker beds, a wall closet, and a basin. The open-plan living area includes a kitchen, dining space, and lounge. All opening windows and doors are equipped with insect netting. The flatlet is located next to the swimming pool, offering a scattered view of the garden and the reed/lake area. There is a communal path between the braai area and the door. The flatlet has its own braai and garden furniture.

Parking is available on-site under a roof-covered carport. A daily cleaning service is included. The bedroom and lounge are equipped with ceiling fans, and an additional pedestal fan is provided. The flatlet supplies bath towels, a kitchen towel, a swab, dish liquid, a sponge, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, pots and pans, a toaster, a kettle, a microwave, a stove with an oven, a fridge, a coffee plunger, a clothesline (outside), and pegs.

The laid-back garden attracts an abundance of birds and is regularly visited by vervet monkeys, banded mongooses, squirrels, and sometimes hippos grazing at night. Guests can enjoy the sunset view (especially in winter) or relax under the tree on a lounger. This location is ideal for bird watchers, nature lovers, and serious eco-tourists/enthusiasts. The owner's family lives on-site and provides information upon arrival.

Please note that this accommodation is not suitable for parties, groups of couples sharing, fishermen (due to the lack of bait storage facilities), or smokers. It is also not recommended for children under the age of 4. While there is an on-site swimming pool with small tables and chairs, the pool fence is not child-proof. Wild animals are present in the area.
