St Lucia Wilds is an establishment situated in a relaxing, tranquil garden with large trees and an abundance of plants. It consists of three conjoined cottage-style units located on the main street on the lake side, away from town noise but within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The business has been operating since 1987, while the buildings date back to the early 1900s.

The cottages offer standard, rustic, well-equipped, neat, tidy, homely, and relaxed-styled accommodation. The furniture and fittings are a mix of old, new, and handmade crafts. The units feature brick walls inside and out, high pine ceilings, tiled floors, and carpeted bedrooms. The units share one joined wall with a bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen. Each unit has its own semi-private garden area with a braai and garden furniture, separated by plants. All opening windows and doors have insect netting, but there are no lake views.

These family cottages have either one or two bedrooms, one bathroom (shower, basin, toilet, and bath) per unit, and an open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area with two single beds. There is a back door and glass patio doors leading to the unit's own garden area. The establishment provides bath towels, kitchen towels, swabs, dish liquid, sponges, coffee plungers, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, pots, pans, clotheslines, pegs, toasters, kettles, microwaves, stoves with ovens, and refrigerators.

Parking is on-site, under roof cover for one vehicle per unit. A daily cleaning service is included. A communal path leads to the swimming pool and garden area by the lake. The laid-back garden attracts an abundance of birds and is regularly visited by Vervet monkeys, Banded mongooses, Red Duikers, Bushbucks, and sometimes hippos grazing at night and more. Guests can enjoy the sunset view (especially in winter) or relax under the trees on loungers.

This location is ideal for birders, nature lovers, and serious eco-tourists/enthusiasts. The owner's family lives on-site and provides information upon arrival. Self-drive or guided reserves and walks are close by, with other activities around town and a Big 5 park within one hour's drive.
